Paleolithic Lifestyle/Diet

Hey there,

So im very sorry I havent been keeping up with my posts lately, I’ve been sick for the last few weeks so expect quite a few posts all at once over the next while!

Being as ill as I have been over the last few weeks has really made me stop and look at my diet. I have chronic Asthma. Something I’ve suffered with since I was a tiny tot. 3 years old to be precise. As a result I have been taking inhalers daily for most of my life. Some stages have been more intense than others, stronger steroid inhalers, a nebulizer, all of that fun stuff haha. But anyway I developed an extremely bad chest infection which led to Pleurisy a few weeks ago. Being an asthmatic im so prone to chest infections so I wasnt one bit surprised when I developed yet another one. What did surprise me though was that the food I eat could have a massive effect on my asthma. After hours of research into the Paleolithic Diet I realised that it was definitely worth a go if it would benefit my lungs in any way.

So that’s where I am now. I’ve been eating nothing but suitable foods that go with this lifestyle, these include Meat,Fish,Poultry,Vegetables,Fruit and lots of water. I’m not eating any dairy,heavy/bad carbohydrates, grains or meats which don’t graze on grass. So far its going great and i feel so much healthier in myself. My breathing has been good so far. Id usually struggle to catch my breath even when I’ve taken my inhalers but I can’t say I’ve had that problem as of yet. YAY! 

I don’t consume any potatoes, pasta, bread or rice. No dairy at all either, not even a dairymilk. I can hear you all crying out noooo…yes that part has been the toughest! Complete chocoholic that I am. Weeeeh. Anyway instead I’ve been eating sweet potatoes and lots and lots and lots of veg and protein.

Honestly I didn’t know food could taste so good. Everything is so much nicer, more flavour. Just class. I love it so much and I’m so glad I made the decision to convert when I did instead of ten years from now.

There are so many gorgeous recipes , tacos, nachos, chicken casseroles, chicken stir fry, salmon, fritters, then there’s sweet potato pancakes , buns, muffins you name it you can have it. Dont limit yourself to the boring side of life. Come on and join the Paleo lifestyle its amazing, healthy and fun. I definitely wont be going back .

Double Chocolate Nutella Cookies ❤️

Hey guys! 

Hope your Tuesday is going great. So yesterday I had a massive and I mean MASSIVE Nutella craving … God have mercy.

I took to the net to find some kind of Nutella containing recipe and found one that looked perfect! It’s literally the easiest receive I’ve ever followed and the cookies turned out perfect first time round.


So for this recipe I used :

  1. 1 large egg
  2. 1 cup of plain flour
  3. 1 big jar of Nutella 

First of all I set the oven to 180C.

I then lined two baking trays with grease proof paper.

Then I got a large bowl, I mixed one egg and the Nutella together. It can all get a bit sticky but just STICK with it, haha no pun intended.

I then added the flour and mixed it all together really well.

I then took one baby spoon of the ready mixture and placed it in my hand, I rolled this into a small ball and then flattened the mixture out.

Next I set this on the baking pan and added a small spoon of Nutella to the centre of the cookie. 

I then repeated the step of rolling the mixture into a small ball and flattening out. I set this second cookie over the top of the drop of Nutella and cookie. This formed a double cookie with gooey centre. 

Repeat these steps to make multiple cookies. This mixture should make 16-18 cookies. 

Cook in the oven for 6 minutes. 

And voila perfect double chocolate Nutella cookies with a gooey centre. Serve with ice cream while still hot for extra deliciousness. Yummy..
